A Day of Insight and Innovation: A Recap of the Symposium on Epigenome Sciences Featured Image

On May 22, 2023, our Cluster proudly hosted our annual Symposium—an event that brought together a diverse group of researchers, students, and enthusiasts in the field of epigenetics.

The symposium featured a stellar lineup of renowned speakers from across the country. Joanna Wysocka from Stanford, Cigall Kadoch from Harvard, Michael Levine from Princeton, Tuuli Lappalainen from Columbia, and Liling Wan from U Penn, along with our own Winston Timp, Reza Kalhor, and Stephanie Hicks, each took the stage to share their invaluable insights and discoveries. We discussed a wide array of topics, delving into the intricacies of single molecule epigenetics, the transformative role of transcriptional enhancers in human development, disease, and evolution, and much more. Each speaker brought a unique perspective, contributing to a rich tapestry of knowledge that highlighted the rapid advancements and ongoing innovation in epigenome sciences.

In addition to the formal presentations, the symposium facilitated engaging discussions and networking opportunities. Attendees were encouraged to ask questions, share their thoughts, and connect with their peers. The lightning talks session was particularly noteworthy, offering emerging researchers a platform to present their work and receive feedback from experienced professionals in the field.

The organizers, Karen Reddy and Xin Chen, played a pivotal role in the success of the event, ensuring a smooth flow of presentations and creating an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere. We are thankful that their dedication to advancing the field of epigenome sciences was evident throughout the day.

Come join us next year!
